The ruins themselves won't take long to examine - twenty minutes max - but the real value is contextual. Historically minded walkers will find this worthwhile. Kids less so, unless they're the type who enjoy scrambling around old stones and making up stories. There's no interpretation board, no tea room, no facilities - just you and the weather. Bring proper footwear if it's been wet.
