All Saints' was here once, serving the parish, hosting births and burials and the everyday faith of Suffolk folk. Now it's archaeological ground, managed as a museum site where the actual history sits in the soil rather than behind glass.

What you get is essentially a chance to see where it all was. The footprint remains visible if you know what to look for, and interpretation panels explain what archaeologists have found. It's not flashy. There's no café, no gift shop, no reconstructed nave to wander through. This works brilliantly if you're the type who finds satisfaction in a walk and a bit of thinking rather than a structured experience. History enthusiasts will get something from it. Families with very young children might find it underwhelming - there's not much to physically do. But if you're staying at one of the nearby parks like Stonham Barns or Goldings, both within four miles, it's a decent morning walk and a proper piece of Suffolk's past.

Go early or late in the day when the light's better and you're less likely to meet other visitors. The village itself is worth a wander too.
