The gallery rotates shows fairly regularly, mixing established names with emerging talent, so it's worth checking ahead rather than turning up hoping for the best. The space itself is generous and light, the kind of place where you don't feel rushed through or crowded out even on busier days. Staff know their stuff and will chat about the pieces if you're interested.

It works brilliantly if you're staying at The Wild Retreat at Redricks Lake or Toad Abode - both are close enough for a morning visit without faff - and breaks up a park holiday nicely when the weather isn't cooperating. Art lovers and anyone after something beyond the usual tourist trail will find it worthwhile. Kids less so unless they're genuinely into contemporary work; it's not a hands-on space.

Allow an hour, maybe ninety minutes if you're really lingering. The gallery's free to enter, though they'll hope you'll buy something from the shop or support whatever show's running. It's a proper local spot that deserves more footfall than it probably gets. Well worth the detour if you're in the area.
