Shaw Forest Park

A sprawling woodland reserve just outside Swindon that gives you proper forest without the crowds. Shaw Forest Park is the sort of place where you can actually hear yourself think - dense tree cover, quiet trails, and the occasional flash of wildlife if you're lucky. The walking here is genuine: well-maintained paths wind through mixed woodland, and there's enough variation in terrain to keep things interesting without being punishing.

It's ideal for families wanting a proper woodland outing without needing to drive hours into the Cotswolds.
