If you want five minutes of genuine quiet with a good 360-degree perspective on the rolling countryside, you've found it.

Walkers tend to build it into longer routes rather than make it a destination in itself. The nearby caravan parks - Cirencester Park is barely a mile away, while Hoburne Cotswold sits at 5.4 miles - make it a natural stop during a Cotswolds touring holiday. Families with small kids might find it brief; it's the sort of place you'd visit for ten minutes en route to somewhere else rather than spend an afternoon.

Best visited when the weather's clear - the views are decent in any conditions, but low cloud makes the whole thing rather pointless. Early morning or late afternoon light transforms it from pleasant to genuinely photogenic. Worth the detour if you're in the area, but don't reroute your entire day around it.
