Built in the 1890s, this Victorian gem served Surrey County Cricket Club for decades before finding its current home as a listed monument.

The cast-iron structure still bears the faded markings where countless matches were recorded by hand. You can imagine the drama it witnessed - Test matches, county championships, the roar of crowds as England battled Australia. It's a proper piece of sporting heritage, though admittedly you'll see everything it has to offer in about fifteen minutes.

Families staying at nearby sites like Chertsey Camping and Caravanning Club or Walton on Thames will find it makes a decent quick stop if you're exploring the area. Cricket-mad kids might enjoy the connection to sporting history, but others could find it a bit niche. The surrounding area isn't much to write home about - it's essentially a roadside monument.

Best combined with a trip to nearby Chertsey or Weybridge rather than making it a destination in itself. Free to view from the outside, and there's usually parking nearby. Worth a detour if you're already in the area, but don't expect to spend more than half an hour here.
