Saxmundham Wildlife Walk

The Wildlife Walk sits just outside Saxmundham itself - a straightforward loop through reed beds and open water that punches above its weight for a place with no visitor centre or café. You're walking alongside shallow pools where reed warblers chatter in spring and summer, and if you're lucky, you'll spot marsh harriers quartering the ground at dawn. The paths are flat and well-maintained, which means it works for families with younger kids and anyone who can't manage steep gradients.

It's not a full day out on its own - count on forty minutes to an hour if you're moving at a sensible pace and stopping to look through the hides. But that brevity is rather the point.
