Walking into Saint Giles feels like stepping back several centuries. This is a proper parish church in Warwickshire - the sort of place locals actually worship rather than somewhere tourists are herded through. The building itself is medieval at heart, though it's been worked on enough times that you get a real sense of how churches evolved over the centuries.

Inside, there's decent medieval stonework and some genuine character in the details. If you're into church architecture or local history, it's worth a look. The registers go back ages if that's your thing. It's not dramatically ornate or particularly grand - think honest, working church rather than the show-stoppers you'd find in Coventry or Warwick proper.

You won't need long here. Half an hour max, unless you're the type who reads every memorial stone and studies the roof timbers. It works best as a stop-off when you're moving between bigger attractions in the area rather than a destination in itself.

Leamington Spa is the nearest proper town, so you could easily combine this with a town visit and a stay at Holt Farm Campsite, which is handily close by. The campsite's got decent reviews, so it'd make a reasonable base if you're exploring Warwickshire's churches and gardens. Saint Giles isn't flashy, but if you appreciate the understated side of English parish life, it's there waiting.
