About Ridge Hill
The hill itself is a working landscape - you'll see forestry work, open grassland, and the kind of unmanicured feel that actually makes for better walking than somewhere over-managed. There's a radio mast up top which spoils the wilderness vibe a touch, but it's easy to ignore once you're focused on the view. Worth allowing an hour for a proper mooch about, longer if you fancy extending into the surrounding paths.
Real strength here is mixing it with Wolverley Camping and Caravanning Club Site just down the road - five miles or so - giving you a proper base for exploring the Wyre Forest area. The walk works best in autumn when the trees shift colour, or early morning before any cloud rolls in. Free to visit, obviously, being open countryside. Not one for a full afternoon's entertainment on its own, but paired with other forest walks in the area, it's a solid morning out.
