The gallery sits just outside Peterborough and focuses on contemporary art and cultural work - the kind of space that won't take hours but rewards a proper look around. It's not massive, which is actually fine; you can see everything without your legs giving up or the kids staging a mutiny halfway through.

The work tends toward installation and mixed media rather than paintings on walls, so there's stuff to actually engage with rather than just stand in front of. Whether that lands depends entirely on your tolerance for modern art, but even sceptics often find something that clicks. The building itself has character - industrial bones, decent light, the sort of space that was clearly something else before someone had the vision to make it gallery.

Worth a couple of hours if you're staying at Ferry Meadows or Nene Outdoors, both just down the road. Good for art types, parents after something a bit different with teenagers, or anyone who fancies a break from the usual caravan park routine. Solo visitors tend to get more from it than families with younger kids, frankly - there's not enough here to keep under-tens entertained for long.

Parking's straightforward, and Peterborough's close enough if you want to grab coffee or lunch before or after. Couple it with a walk along the Nene Valley - the park trails nearby are proper lovely and actually make for a full day out rather than just a gallery stop.
