Ravenscliff Gully

Wind whips across the clifftops as you peer down into this dramatic limestone gorge carved deep into the Gower Peninsula's rugged coastline. Ravenscliff Gully cuts a spectacular slash through the white cliffs, where centuries of erosion have created a narrow chasm that drops sharply toward the churning waters below. The view from the rim is properly breathtaking - on clear days you can see right across to Devon's coastline.

Walkers and photographers will love this spot, though it's not one for anyone nervous about heights. The approach involves a fair bit of scrambling over uneven ground, and there are no safety barriers at the edge. Families with young children might want to give this one a miss.

Timing your visit matters here. Early morning light catches the limestone beautifully, while sunset can be spectacular if the weather plays ball. Allow at least an hour for the walk out and back, plus time to properly take in the views.

This makes a cracking addition to a Gower holiday, especially if you're staying at one of the nearby sites like Three Cliffs Bay Holiday Park or Nicholaston Farm. The gully sits perfectly between other Peninsula highlights - you could easily combine it with a trip to Rhossili Bay or explore the caves at Paviland on the same day.
