Rainforest

You'll find yourself surrounded by tropical plants, steaming air, and the kind of humidity that makes your hair do things it wouldn't normally do. Rainforest at Chessington World of Adventures is an indoor attraction that recreates - reasonably well - what stepping into an actual rainforest might feel like, complete with exotic birds and enough greenery to make you forget you're in Greater London for a bit.

It's a themed area rather than a full standalone park, so expect to spend an hour or so wandering through if you're being thorough. Kids under ten seem to genuinely love it - there's something about spotting hidden wildlife and feeling like proper adventurers that works on that age group. Adults might find it a touch contrived after the initial novelty wears off, though the temperature change when you step inside does catch you off guard in the best way.

If you're staying at Chessington World of Adventures Resort itself, it's basically on your doorstep and worth a wander between the bigger rides. The Polyapes Scout Campsite and Walton on Thames Camping sites are close enough that you could easily visit as part of a day at the wider Chessington complex. Fair warning though - it's warm and humid in there, and if you've got elderly relatives or anyone who struggles with heat, they might find it uncomfortable rather than relaxing.

Practically speaking, it comes as part of your Chessington admission rather than a separate ticket, so factor it into your day if you're already planning to be there.
