The local leisure centre in Cardigan isn't going to win any architecture awards, but that's rather the point - it's a proper community facility where you'll find families splashing about, school groups doing lengths, and the occasional adult trying to get fit. The main pool is decent enough for a swim, and there's a shallow end that works well for younger kids learning the ropes. Water temperature is warm, which matters more than people think when you've got children.

If you're staying at Cardigan Bay Holiday Park or one of the other campsites nearby - Gwbert Glamping, Nantycroy, or Tŷ Gwyn - this is genuinely handy. The pools fill a gap on rainy days or when you need to burn off energy without heading far from base. It's not a destination in itself, mind you. You're looking at an hour or so max for most visits, unless your kids are genuinely obsessed with swimming.

Check their website for opening times and prices before you go - these things vary seasonally and daily. On a quiet afternoon it's fine, but hit it during school holidays and peak times and you'll be sharing your lane with half the county. Worth knowing before you arrive.
