The Vlad-Art Gallery sits just outside Cardigan, a proper little art space that punches above its weight for such a small corner of West Wales. It's part gallery, part shop - the kind of place where you can actually buy the work on the walls rather than just gawp at it through glass. The gallery focuses on contemporary art with a distinctly local flavour, and the rotating exhibitions mean it's worth revisiting if you're camping in the area for more than a week.

You're looking at an hour here, maybe ninety minutes if you get chatting to the staff or you're genuinely into the work. It's not a massive space, so don't expect to lose half your afternoon. The shop side is useful - prints, cards, smaller pieces - if you want something to take home without the luggage nightmare of an original canvas.

For families it's hit-or-miss. Kids might get bored quickly unless they're already into art, but older teenagers with an interest in contemporary work could find something engaging. Couples and solo travellers who enjoy local artists will get more from it.

If you're camped at any of the nearby parks - Happy Campers, Cardigan Bay, or Mwnt Camping aren't far - it's a reasonable rainy-day option or a quick stop while you're in Cardigan proper.
