Point lynas

The lighthouse at Point Lynas marks the northeastern tip of Anglesey, and it's a proper coastal walk to reach it. You get there from Amlwch via a coastal path that winds past rocky outcrops and patches of marram grass - the light itself sits on a headland where the Irish Sea gets properly rough on windy days. It's an active navigation lighthouse, so you can't go inside, but standing at the point itself gives you wide views across the water toward the Isle of Man on a clear day.

Walkers will get the most out of this. The approach takes maybe thirty to forty minutes from the village, and it's best done at low tide if you want to explore the rocks below. The path can be boggy in places and the wind doesn't mess about up here, so come prepared. It's not a destination in itself - more of a worthwhile detour if you're staying in one of the caravan parks around Amlwch, like Mount View or Gadfa Touring Park just down the road.

Admission is free, naturally. The real reward here is the walk itself and that satisfying moment when you reach the point and realise you're standing at the edge of things. Summer weekends pull day-trippers, but midweek or outside peak season you'll have the headland mostly to yourself. Worth allowing a couple of hours if you're combining it with other Anglesey coastal spots.
