Pennance Consols

Two towering engine houses rise from the moorland like weathered sentinels, their stark granite walls bearing witness to Cornwall's mining heyday. Pennance Consols operated from the 1860s through to the early 1900s, extracting tin and copper from deep shafts that once employed hundreds of miners from the surrounding villages near Truro.

Walking among the ruins today, you'll spot the remains of the stamps house where ore was crushed, plus scattered foundations of workshops and miners' changing rooms.
