Parkway Shopping Centre sits on the edge of Newbury like most retail parks do - functional, purpose-built, utterly without pretension. It's the sort of place you end up when you need something specific rather than somewhere you'd plan a trip around, though if you're based at Cherry Bird Country Park or Bishops Green Farm Campsite nearby, it's handy enough to know about.

The centre itself is standard fare: chain shops, a supermarket, the usual suspects. Nothing remarkable, nothing dire. You'll find what you're after if you're after anything at all. Free parking, which is always welcome, and it's laid out sensibly enough that you won't spend half an hour hunting for an entrance.

Honestly? It's useful rather than rewarding. Come here if you've run out of supplies at your caravan or need to pick up something you forgot. The real appeal of staying at Rhodeside or Hollington Park Glamping is getting away from retail parks, not visiting them. But if you're self-catering and need a proper supermarket, Parkway gets the job done without fuss.

It's five minutes from Newbury town centre if you fancy somewhere with actual character instead. The shopping centre itself? Functional. Safe bet if you need it. Not worth planning your day around otherwise.
