The walk up Panpudding Hill is proper Shropshire - rolling countryside that doesn't shout about itself. From Bridgnorth, it's an easy enough detour, and once you're up there the views across the local countryside justify the leg work. The hill itself isn't dramatic or particularly high, but that's almost the point. You get genuine far-reaching views without the crowds you'd find on the honeypot walks elsewhere in the region.

It's the kind of place walkers actually enjoy rather than simply tick off. The approach is straightforward, and you can tailor how long you spend based on what you fancy - anywhere from 45 minutes to a couple of hours depending on whether you're pottering about taking in the panorama. Families with older kids will manage it fine; younger ones might find it a bit dull without the drama of a proper peak.
