Old Brickyard Plantation

The Old Brickyard Plantation sits just outside Kenilworth as a proper woodland walk rather than a polished visitor attraction. It's the sort of place you stumble upon when you're exploring the quieter corners of Warwickshire - dense forest with established paths that wind through thick tree cover, giving you that proper forest-floor atmosphere without the crowds.

What you're getting here is straightforward: woodland trails, decent shade, and the chance to actually stretch your legs rather than queue for anything. The plantation dates back centuries and you can sense the maturity of the trees, though there's no interpretation boards or visitor centre nonsense. Just forest.

Walkers will absolutely get the most from this. Families with kids old enough to manage uneven ground will find it engaging for an hour or so, though there's no play equipment or facilities to speak of. History types might appreciate knowing you're walking through land with genuine age to it, but don't expect plaques or detailed information.

Admission appears to be free, and you can usually just turn up. Mornings work best before it gets muddy, especially after rain - bring proper boots rather than trainers. Allow an hour for a decent circuit without rushing.
