Ogof Tudno

Scrambling down the rocky shoreline near Llandudno's Great Orme, you'll find this natural sea cave that's been drawing curious explorers for generations. The entrance opens directly onto the beach, though you'll need to time your visit carefully with the tides - high water makes access impossible and potentially dangerous.

Inside, the cave extends back into the limestone headland for about 30 metres. It's nothing spectacular - no dramatic stalactites or underground chambers - but there's something rather thrilling about ducking into this coastal hideaway. Kids absolutely love it, though parents need to keep a close eye on slippery rocks and changing water levels.

Best tackled as part of a longer walk around the Great Orme, perhaps combined with the tramway or cable car journey. Allow 20 minutes for a proper explore, assuming conditions allow.
