Standing at the entrance to this limestone cave system near Llandudno, you'll find yourself at one of North Wales' lesser-known underground adventures. The cave extends deep into the hillside, offering a proper spelunking experience for those willing to get their hands dirty. Unlike the polished tourist caves you'll find elsewhere, this one demands a torch, sturdy boots and a sense of adventure.

Experienced cavers will appreciate the challenging passages and interesting rock formations, though families with young children might find it too demanding. The entrance can be tricky to locate without local knowledge, and the conditions inside are genuinely wild - expect mud, tight squeezes and complete darkness once you're away from the mouth.

Bring your own equipment and go with someone who knows the cave system. The formations inside are worth the effort, but this isn't a casual afternoon out. Allow at least two hours if you're planning to explore properly, and check weather conditions first as the cave can flood after heavy rain.
