Ogof Bys

Ogof Bys isn't your sanitised tourist attraction with handrails and gift shops - it's the real deal, a proper caving experience that requires a torch, decent boots and a willingness to get muddy.

The entrance sits in dramatic coastal scenery, though finding it takes a bit of local knowledge or proper directions. Once inside, you're navigating narrow passages and chambers carved by centuries of water action. It's atmospheric stuff, with the sound of the sea echoing through the limestone.

Experienced cavers will appreciate the challenge, but families with young children should probably look elsewhere. The terrain is unforgiving and there's no supervision or safety equipment provided. Groups of teenagers or adventurous adults, however, will find it a proper thrill.
