The Offline Gallery in Larne is a refreshingly low-key spot - no pretension, no queues, just art on the walls and room to breathe. It's the sort of place where you might stumble in on a Tuesday afternoon and have the whole space to yourself, which is either brilliant or a bit lonely depending on your mood.

The gallery showcases contemporary work from local and regional artists, rotating exhibits fairly regularly. You won't find blockbuster installations here - this is intimate, gallery-goer territory. Work tends toward painting and sculpture, with occasional photography and mixed media pieces that actually make you stop and think rather than scroll past on your phone.

Who gets the most from it? Anyone after genuine art rather than Instagram backdrop. Serious collectors sometimes uncover proper discoveries here. Kids will last about twenty minutes unless they're genuinely interested in what's on the walls.

Free entry, which is always a win. Budget forty minutes to an hour - you can do it quicker, but it's worth lingering. Head in late morning if you want to avoid chat with the staff, or strike up a conversation if you're curious about the pieces.

Larne itself is modest - industrial heritage rather than scenic - but if you're camping at Down to Earth Wild Camping nearby, the Offline Gallery makes for a solid rainy-day detour before heading out properly. Not worth driving an hour out of your way for, but absolutely worth an hour if you're in the area and fancy something real.
