North Hill

Standing at 397 metres, this is the highest point in Worcestershire and the southern end of the Malvern Hills ridge. The climb from Malvern town centre takes about 45 minutes on well-maintained paths, though the final approach gets properly steep.

Views from the top stretch across three counties on a clear day - you'll spot the Severn Valley, the Cotswolds, and even the Welsh mountains if you're lucky. The OS trig point marks the summit, and there's usually a decent breeze up here even on still days below.

Walkers will love the challenge, and it's achievable for reasonably fit families with older children. The younger ones might struggle with the gradient, though. Dog walkers are everywhere - it's clearly a local favourite for a proper leg stretch.

Allow two to three hours for the round trip, including time to catch your breath and admire the panorama. Early morning visits often reward you with clearer air and fewer crowds. The paths can get muddy after rain, so decent boots are essential.

From any of the nearby holiday parks like Malvern Hills Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite or Oakmere Parks, it makes an excellent day out. The town of Malvern sits right at the foot of the hills, so you're never far from a proper cup of tea afterwards.
