New Ing wood

Woodland walks don't come much more straightforward than New Ing Wood, just outside Clitheroe. It's a proper Lancashire woodland - nothing fancy, just trees, paths, and fresh air - the kind of place where you'll actually see locals walking their dogs rather than tour groups ticking boxes.

But if you're staying at Calder Farm just down the road, or any of the Ribble Valley holiday parks within a few miles, this is a natural choice for a morning constitutional.

The wood works best as part of a wider Ribble Valley outing rather than a destination in itself. Pair it with a walk along the River Ribble or a wander around Clitheroe town centre, and you've got a proper day. It costs nothing, asks nothing of you, and delivers exactly what it promises. That's worth respecting.
