The house itself is grand - all plasterwork and period furniture - but the real draw for families is the dedicated children's museum tucked inside, which transforms dusty history into something you can actually touch and explore.

You'll find hands-on exhibits about what daily life was like for children centuries ago, Victorian toys, period costumes to try on, and activities that keep kids engaged rather than dragging their feet through yet another stately home. It's the kind of place where a seven-year-old might actually stay interested for a couple of hours rather than forty minutes.
