The pump track at this North Yorkshire site is basically a concrete circuit designed for mountain bikers to practice without needing downhill runs. You ride around bermed corners and over rollers, building speed through momentum rather than pedaling - it's more technical than it sounds. The whole thing takes maybe twenty minutes to get the hang of, though proper riders will spend hours refining their lines and hitting bigger air.

It's brilliant for teenagers who want to progress beyond trails but aren't ready for proper downhill parks. Kids as young as eight or nine can manage it on smaller bikes, though they'll find the first few laps frustrating if they're not confident yet.
