Millennium Wood

A woodland walk just outside Wallingford that marks the turn of the millennium with a collection of native trees planted back in 2000. It's the sort of place that doesn't announce itself loudly, which is precisely why it works. You'll find yourself surrounded by oak, ash, and beech - proper countryside rather than manicured park grounds.

The appeal here is straightforward: peaceful woodland without the crowds you'd hit at bigger attractions. Children under ten might find it a bit samey after 30 minutes unless they're genuinely into spotting wildlife.

It sits well within a broader Oxfordshire trip, especially if you're based at one of the nearby camping spots like Rolling Fields Glamping or Ridgeway View. Both are solid options within 6 miles, so you could easily combine a morning here with a visit to Wallingford itself - the market town's got more character than you'd expect.
