The library in March sits right in the town centre, a working community space that's genuinely useful if you're stopping over in Cambridgeshire. It's the sort of place locals pop into for a browse and a quiet sit-down, and visiting with kids means they've got a dedicated section that actually keeps them occupied rather than just shuffling board books around.

You won't spend hours here - maybe 45 minutes to an hour if you're thorough - but it's worth knowing about if you're based at Fenland Camping and Caravan Park or Knightsbridge down the road. The staff are helpful without being overbearing, and there's usually something on the noticeboard about local events happening in the area. It's particularly handy if weather turns rough and you need an hour indoors that doesn't involve spending money.

The Fenland area itself is dead flat and quietly rewarding for walkers and cyclists - very different from the Cotswolds or Lake District you might be used to. This library is part of that fabric rather than a destination in itself. Free to use, no fuss, no admission charge. Bring the kids on a rainy afternoon or pop in to grab a map of local walks. It's proper useful if you're actually staying in the area, less so if you're just passing through town.
