Long Wood

The woodland around Bradford-on-Avon isn't the sort of place you'd stumble across by accident. Birdwatchers and quiet types will love it. Kids might manage twenty minutes before asking if there's anything else to do.

The nearest proper base is Bradford-on-Avon itself, and if you're camping in the area - Stowford Manor Farm is just four miles away - this works as a decent morning or late afternoon outing without committing your whole day. Long Wood won't compete with a proper forest walk, but it's the sort of place that repays a slow wander.
