Long Covert

Walking through Long Covert feels like stepping into the kind of woodland that's been left alone for a proper long time. It's a forest patch just outside Worcester, the sort of place locals know about but tourists often miss, with decent paths threading through mature trees and enough undergrowth to make you feel genuinely away from it all.

The woodland itself is straightforward - no themed attractions or visitor centres, just trees, trails, and the occasional opening where light breaks through. You'll spot the usual suspects: oak, beech, and hazel. In spring the floor is decent with bluebells. Autumn brings proper colour. It's the kind of walk that suits families with children old enough to manage woodland paths without needing a manicured route, and absolutely the place for anyone after a quiet hour or two away from the caravan.

Allow a good 45 minutes to an hour to wander without rushing. There's no entry fee that we could find, and no specific opening hours - it's a working forest, not a gated attraction. The walk sits well within reach of the nearby holiday parks: Cotswold Grange and Millavon are both under four miles away, making this a solid option for a morning before heading to one of the larger attractions around Worcester.
