Located just outside Winchester, it's an offbeat landmark that emerged from the annual Boomtown event, a massive festival that transforms a former airfield into a sprawling temporary city complete with stages, installations, and genuine oddness.

What you're actually looking at is a sculptural piece and festival hub that captures some of that anarchic festival spirit year-round. It's colourful, deliberately weird, and the sort of thing that makes you either grin or grimace depending on your tolerance for kitsch. Fair warning: it's not really a destination in itself. You don't arrive expecting a two-hour visit. It's more of a 'oh, we're near Winchester, fancy a quick look?' situation.

For families with teenagers who've caught the festival bug, it might spark something. History types and traditionalists should probably keep driving. The nearest caravan sites - Winchester Morn Hill is under a mile away, and Holden Farm Camping sits just two miles out - make it a reasonable pit stop if you're basing yourself in the area for a proper explore of Winchester's cathedral and high street.

Best approached with low expectations and a sense of humour. It's free to look at from the road, though parking and visiting properly depends on what Boomtown's currently doing with the space. Worth a glance if you're passing, but don't detour specially.
