The building itself is striking - all swooping curves and modern glass - which locals either love or find a bit much depending on who you ask. Inside, you get three floors of proper collections: fiction, non-fiction, local history archives that are genuinely worth digging through if you're into Coventry's medieval past or the Blitz era.

The real draw here is the local history section. If you're staying at Hollyfast Caravan Park just down the road, it's easily worth an hour of your time to understand what Coventry actually is beyond the bombed-out cathedral. The children's area is decent enough for a rainy afternoon - nothing fancy, but it does the job. There's free WiFi, clean loos, and the staff know their stuff.

Admission is free, which helps. Allow two hours if you're browsing properly, less if you're just grabbing something to read for the caravan. The city centre location means parking can be fiddly, so consider walking from your park or using the bus if you're based at Broadwell Woods. Summer holidays get busy with schoolkids, so go mid-week if you can. It won't blow your mind, but paired with a walk around the medieval streets and the cathedral, it rounds out a Coventry day nicely.
