Ley Park

Walking through the ancient woodland paths here feels like stepping back centuries. Ley Park sprawls across Gloucestershire countryside just outside Westbury-on-Severn, offering proper forest rambling without the crowds you'll find in better-known spots. The trees are magnificent - towering oaks and beech that create a proper canopy overhead, with dappled sunlight filtering through in those golden early morning hours.

Families will love the space to let kids run wild, though it's not manicured like a country park. This is genuine woodland, complete with muddy patches and fallen logs that make brilliant adventure playgrounds. Dog walkers particularly rate it - there's enough space for even the most energetic spaniel to tire themselves out.
