You won't find gift shops or tour groups at Laymore Coventicle Site. What you will find is a small, understated monument to one of Northern Ireland's most defiant religious gatherings - a spot where Presbyterians met in secret during the 1680s, when their faith was outright banned.

The site itself is modest: a stone marker and a handful of interpretive panels on open moorland between Ballymena and the surrounding countryside. But that's precisely what makes it compelling.
