If you're based at Castle Camping just down the road, or one of the other parks within a few miles - Yellowstone or Sky View - Lawton Woods makes for a solid half-morning outing. It's not the sort of place you'd plan a day trip around, but it slots in nicely alongside other activities around Stoke-on-Trent.
