Langley Hill

You can see for miles from Langley Hill, and on a clear day the Malverns pop up sharp against the horizon. It's a modest summit by any measure - nothing that'll make your legs scream - but the views over Gloucestershire's rolling farmland are genuinely worth the short walk up. The hill sits just outside Tewkesbury, making it a natural stop if you're passing through rather than a destination in itself.

Walkers will find it straightforward. The climb takes less than half an hour for most people, and the paths are clear enough. Families with younger children should manage fine without complaint. On a grey day it's just a hill. On a decent morning though, the vista across the Severn Vale justifies the effort.

If you're based at Winchcombe Camping & Caravanning Club, it's barely a drive away and works as a morning outing before breakfast. Cheltenham Racecourse Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite is a touch further but still within easy striking distance. Those in the area for a longer stay - say at Coxhorne Glamping - can slot it into a wider exploration of the Cotswolds' edges.

There's no visitor infrastructure here, so bring water and check the weather. Free to access, obviously. Worth a go if you're in the region and fancy a proper vantage point. Don't make it your holiday centrepiece, but do climb it if the sun's out.
