Lower Coppice

Thick oak and ash canopies spread across this peaceful woodland just outside Tewkesbury, offering proper countryside walking without the crowds you'll find in more famous Worcestershire spots. Lower Coppice feels genuinely wild - the sort of place where you might spot deer darting between the trees or hear woodpeckers hammering away overhead.

Families with energetic children will find plenty of natural adventure here. The woodland paths aren't marked or maintained like formal trails, which means kids can scramble over fallen logs and explore at will. Dog walkers absolutely love it too - plenty of space for hounds to roam safely off-lead.

What you won't find are facilities, signage, or any commercial trappings. This is old-school woodland rambling where you rely on your own sense of direction and come prepared with waterproofs. The paths can get quite muddy after rain, so decent walking boots are essential.

It works brilliantly as a morning adventure if you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Bredon View or Croft Farm Water Park. The kids can burn off energy before lunch, and you're only twenty minutes from the historic streets of Tewkesbury if you fancy a proper pub meal afterwards. Allow an hour or two depending on how far you want to venture into the trees.
