Lan Enclosure

Ancient earthworks rise from the Welsh countryside just outside Whitland, marking what was once an important Iron Age settlement. The enclosure appears to be freely accessible year-round, sitting as it does on what seems to be common land. Best combined with exploring other Carmarthenshire archaeological sites rather than treated as a destination in itself. From nearby holiday parks like Llain Farm Glamping or Westwales Camping Pods, it makes for a pleasant half-hour detour while touring the area's Iron Age heritage - though don't expect facilities or formal footpaths.
