Lakeland Maze Farm Park

The maze itself is the main draw here, a proper full-on agricultural attraction just outside Kendal. You're wandering through head-high crops trying to find your way out, which sounds simple until you've been going in circles for twenty minutes and a six-year-old has already spotted the exit you somehow missed. It's the kind of thing that keeps families occupied for a solid hour, maybe longer if you're the type who refuses to use the solution map.

Beyond the maze, there's the farm itself. Animals to see, a farm shop selling the usual sort of local produce and ice cream, and enough space for kids to burn off energy without feeling like you're paying over the odds. It's not Disneyland, but it doesn't pretend to be. The admission fee exists but specifics are thin on the ground, so ring ahead if you're bothered about cost.

Timing-wise, spring through autumn is when it's actually open - the maze needs crops to be a maze - so plan accordingly. Summer weekends get rammed. Mornings are quieter if you can swing it.
