Kyleakin Parish Church

The modest stone church sits on Kyleakin's main road, easy to miss if you're racing towards Skye. It's the sort of building that tells you more about Highland life than any visitor centre could - all weathered walls and practical design, no frills. The church has roots going back centuries, though what stands now is largely 19th-century work, the kind of restoration that happened across the Highlands when communities had a bit more coin.
