Knock Jargon

The walk up Knock Jargon takes about forty minutes from the car park, and it's proper Scottish Lowland walking - muddy in places, steep in others, but nothing that'll defeat you. The summit sits at 348 metres, which doesn't sound much until you're standing on top looking out across North Ayrshire towards the coast. On a clear day you can see for miles. The view back towards Ayrshire town itself is the real draw here, especially if you've got an hour to kill between other activities.

It's a walker's hill, really. Not dramatic or particularly scenic in the way some Scottish peaks are, but solid and straightforward. Families with older kids will manage it fine; younger ones might find it a bit of a slog coming back down. The path is well-enough marked, though it can be boggy in wet weather, so proper boots matter.
