Kinneff Old Parish Church

The stone kirk sits quiet on a rise above the Mearns countryside, about three miles south of Stonehaven. Kinneff Old Parish Church is modest - properly old, with a simple rectangular body and a stubby tower that's seen better centuries. The main draw is the history locked into these walls. During the Covenanting wars, the church held the Scottish Honours - the crown jewels, basically - hidden away when Cromwell's lot were sniffing around. If you're basing yourself at either park, this is a quiet detour worth taking, though not a headline attraction. More of a proper local discovery.
