King George Recreation Ground

The ground covers woodland and open grassland, with paths that meander through the place without demanding serious navigation skills.

It's the sort of spot that works well if you're camping at one of the nearby parks like Aldenham Country Park or Home Farm Glamping and fancy a morning walk that doesn't require map work. Families with younger kids will find the open sections manageable, though it's not exactly bursting with play equipment or facilities - this is genuinely about getting outside, not about being entertained.

Walkers get the most from it. The woodland sections are pleasant enough, and there's genuine peace compared to the sprawl of Watford itself just beyond the boundary. On a clear day you can cover the whole thing in an hour, ninety minutes if you're dawdling and actually looking at things.
