Kiln park

The Kiln is a proper little nature reserve tucked just outside Tenby, and if you're staying at Haven Kiln Park Holiday Centre - which practically sits on top of it - you've stumbled onto something worthwhile. This isn't a manicured visitor attraction with signboards and a cafe. It's a genuine slice of Pembrokeshire coastal habitat, the kind of place where you might spot redstarts, buzzards, or if you're lucky, a peregrine falcon cutting across the cliffs.

What draws people here is straightforward: woodland walks, wild flowers in season, and honest-to-god nature without the theme park polish. The reserve protects an old kiln site - hence the name - and the historical bones of it add a bit of texture to a walk that's otherwise about listening to birds and breathing proper Welsh air. It's free to explore, which is always the right price for this sort of thing.

Honestly, you won't need more than an hour or ninety minutes unless you're a serious birder with a pair of binoculars and a field guide. Best visited in spring or early summer when the migrant birds are passing through and the woodland floor is busy with life. Winter can be a bit bleak and exposed up there.
