K2 Leisure Centre

K2 Leisure Centre sits just outside Crawley and is the sort of place you'd take the kids on a rainy Tuesday when the weather's turned and everyone's going stir-crazy. It's a proper sports facility - swimming pools, gym, activity studios, the usual leisure centre setup - rather than a destination attraction, if I'm honest.

The pools are the main draw. There's typically a main pool for lap swimmers and a shallow end for younger children, plus sometimes a learner pool depending on what's on that day. The leisure centre also runs classes - spin, yoga, that sort of thing - if you fancy something more structured than just splashing about.

Families with young kids will get the most out of a visit here, especially if you're based at one of the nearby caravan parks like Gatwick Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite (3 miles away) or Hook Farm Campsite (6 miles out). It's convenient rather than thrilling, and you're looking at maybe two hours max before everyone's done.

You'll want to check their current opening hours and prices before you go - leisure centres shuffle their timetables about - and book ahead if you're planning to swim during peak times. During school holidays it gets rammed. Honestly, if you're camping in the area and the forecast is grim, it's a solid fallback. Just don't expect it to be the highlight of your trip.
