Jubilee Garden

The walk down to Jubilee Garden from St. Agnes feels like stepping into someone's private world. It's a proper little nature reserve tucked into the Cornish coast, the sort of place where locals potter about and visitors often miss entirely. The garden itself sits in a sheltered valley - you get wildflowers in season, coastal scrub, and the kind of quiet you don't get near the beaches come July.

It's not a grand affair. There are no café facilities, no visitor centre, no entrance fee as far as anyone can tell. You show up, wander the paths, and if you're lucky the light hits the valley just right and you remember why you bothered with Cornwall in the first place. The paths are manageable though a bit muddy after rain - wear decent shoes.

This works best for walkers and nature types rather than families with small children demanding constant activity. Budget an hour if you're leisurely, 30 minutes if you're just grabbing fresh air between beaches. Spring and early summer are your best bets for flowers.

If you're camped at Perran View just up the road - barely a mile away - this is a cracking morning stroll before breakfast. Treamble Valley and the bigger parks at Holywell Bay and Trevornick are close enough for a detour between beach days. It's the sort of place that reminds you there's more to a Cornish holiday than driving from car park to car park.
