St. Agnes Heritage Coast

The cliffs around St. Agnes are the real deal - dramatic, dark, and lined with the remnants of Cornwall's mining past. You get proper coastal scenery here: sheer drops down to rocky beaches, the Atlantic hammering away below, and on a clear day views that stretch for miles along the north coast.

This is less about a visitor centre and more about the landscape itself. The heritage is written into the geology - abandoned mine buildings pepper the clifftops, tin and copper workings that shaped the region centuries ago. It's brilliant for anyone interested in industrial history or willing to piece together a landscape's story from what's left behind.

The walk itself isn't trivial. The paths are decent but exposed, and the clifftops can be windy. Allow two to three hours if you're properly exploring, less if you just want a quick blow on the clifftop. It's free - there's no admission charge to walk the cliffs. Spring and early autumn are your sweet spot for weather, though the light in winter casts everything in a moody grey that some find even better.
