Janson caravan park

A functioning caravan park on the outskirts of Nottingham that's been there longer than most people realise. Janson isn't a theme park or a tourist attraction in the traditional sense - it's a proper working holiday site where families actually pitch up for weeks at a time, and it shows. The park sits on decent acreage with the usual caravan infrastructure: pitches laid out in rows, a small shop, and facilities that cater to the extended-stay crowd rather than passing visitors.

You won't find manicured gardens or entertainment staff here. What you get instead is authentic caravan culture - the sort of place where regulars have owned the same plot for decades and know each other by name. There's a fishing lake on-site, which is the real draw for many visitors. It's genuinely peaceful, the kind of spot where you can sit and do very little without feeling like you're missing out on an attraction.

It's worth mentioning only if you're already staying in a caravan locally or considering whether to book here rather than elsewhere. The immediate area around Nottingham has several competing parks, including Janson Fishery Caravan & Camping just next door, which offers much the same thing. For a family holiday where you want to pitch up, fish a bit, and use Nottingham as a base for day trips, it's solid enough. Don't make a special journey into Nottinghamshire just to see the park itself though - that would be missing the point entirely.
