About Holkham Park
You can walk for hours here without hitting a fence. The beach is accessible too if you head north - proper wild Norfolk coastline, not manicured at all. History types will appreciate the whole setup; it's been a working estate since medieval times. Families with older kids enjoy the space to roam, though younger ones might find it a bit "just trees" after an hour or so.
Admission to the grounds is free, which makes it excellent value for a half-day when you're based at one of the nearby parks like Pinewoods or Deepdale. Allow two to three hours if you're actually walking it properly, longer if you visit the hall itself. Spring brings lambs and snowdrops; autumn is cracking for colour. Winter can be muddy as hell, so decent boots matter.
It sits just east of Peterstone, well connected to the other Norfolk attractions. Park here, walk the estate, grab a pint nearby. Proper Norfolk.
